CD Advisory Board – Jason Zulli Portfolio

Summary

The Communication Design Advisory Board is a group of well diverse industry designers of all areas. The goal of this advisory board is to guide our courses and curculum to keep with industry standards. This allows our students to leave Northampton with the skills need to start working right away. We also use this advisory board as a place to talk about new courses and topics of design and how we shall be moving in that direction. All of our changes to the Communication Design program came out of this board.

Highlights

Best Local Industry Designers

We try to mix our board with designers from all areas of the industry such as; Package Design, Print, Motion Graphics, Video, Type etc.

Annual Meetings

We meet once a year to discuss any changes they see in the industry as well as any changes we see in our courses and students.

Curriculum & Course Development

We use this time to explore new courses as well as talk about changes we feel are important in our Communication Design Curriculum

Assessments

We use this time to show the professionals what data we collected on them and the students as well as highlights of what we noticed during our portfolio review.

Alumni

We have started to add our alumni to this board. Students who have no started to work in the industry and can provide us with two points of view. One as a student and now one as a professional.
